Michael is Director of the Graphic Design and Digital Media program, called cbudesign, at California Baptist University. He wrote the content for the program from the ground up and teaches courses. He is also currently working on his MFA in design. After graduating with a BFA in design in 1989 he went to work in design firm specializing in the entertainment industry, real estate, financial sector, and Christian organizations.

His skill sets include design, photography, web design and video. He became involved with CBU as an art director for David Riley Associates where he designed the CBU logo and helped brand the school. He would join the marketing department in 2005 where he would continue the work on the brand including the design of The Roundtable. In 2008 he would join the faculty where today he leads the design program. The program has grown from 40 to 150 design majors in the  years under his tenure as director.
